Happy Easter

Easter is my absolute favorite holiday.  I may not be religious, but I most certainly am spiritual, thanks to my Yoga practice and love for nature.  To me, Easter Sunday is the celebration of a new chapter in my life.  Winter has passed and Spring has come to stay.  It is a time of new beginnings.  It is a time to celebrate eternal life and hope, (whether you're religious or not).  I celebrate as if it is New Year's all over again!

Find yourself some Easter Lilies and drink the fragrant smells in, bring out your cheery spring clothing to brighten up the day, put away your winter clothes and head outside for a stroll while deeply inhaling the fresh, crisp air of early spring with your loved ones.

Personally, I celebrate Easter alone this year, but that doesn't mean I feel alone.  I've chosen to be among the waves and sands of our natural world, Cape Cod.  There is so much space for the heart to find light and for creative energy to flow.  Traditionally, I wake early to the sounds of birds chirping with delight and head out to the bay for a sunrise service to celebrate the re-birth of the world.

I hope you all have a wonderful day as well and can find peace and happiness on a beautiful day like today.  Happy Easter Egg hunting!

Today is yet another good day to re-kindle your Yoga practice.

  1. Easter on the Cape indeed carries the sounds and the scents of a renewed beginning. A few weekend's ago, my partner & I went walking for 3 hours on Lieutenant's Island in Wellfleet. We walked the loop to Jeremy's Point at dead low tide. While walking silently in our respective space across the sand dunes and on the beaches, I remember being able to hear and feel my breathing even though the waves, the birds and the wind were all busy playing their concert. The only other place I can feel my breath like I did that day is during a yoga flow. Nature on the Cape has a subtle way to connect me with my inner flow, just like yoga. I'm so grateful to witness & experience Easter, Spring, & new beginnings on the Cape. We miss you Sunie! Happy new beginning to you dear friend.
