Shifting Perspective

Since moving to NYC I have had an enormous shift in my perspective on life.  Time flies by like never before.  Things get done very quickly.  People move on faster than I've ever seen before.

Time to take a step back and witness living.

What have your habits become and how can you change them for the better?  Change is a most telling virtue we are fortunate to experience.

How many times have you walked along the same path?  Noticed the same things?  Literally followed step for step?  Have you ever tried taking a different path?  This can be applied to something as simple as going for a walk or to the more complex choices you make in your life.  Can you alter a habit you and your partner have created for the better?  Can you take a chance by applying to that job you've been eyeing?  Can you treat someone in a different fashion that could progress your relationship in a positive way, look at someone in a different light, try a different Yoga style, another studio or another teacher, try a different restaurant or a different route to work?  Notice the differences, check in with yourself and become aware of how you respond to these changes.  This is true insight to who you are.    When something is altered, you can either ignore it or embrace it.  Chose the latter and love the growth it allows you.

Spring is a glorious time to open yourself to the natural shifts of life.  Mother Earth is shifting herself.  The flowers are in bloom, the days are longer and the sun is brighter.  Open to change.  Breath, relax, feel, watch and allow.

Happy Easter

Easter is my absolute favorite holiday.  I may not be religious, but I most certainly am spiritual, thanks to my Yoga practice and love for nature.  To me, Easter Sunday is the celebration of a new chapter in my life.  Winter has passed and Spring has come to stay.  It is a time of new beginnings.  It is a time to celebrate eternal life and hope, (whether you're religious or not).  I celebrate as if it is New Year's all over again!

Find yourself some Easter Lilies and drink the fragrant smells in, bring out your cheery spring clothing to brighten up the day, put away your winter clothes and head outside for a stroll while deeply inhaling the fresh, crisp air of early spring with your loved ones.

Personally, I celebrate Easter alone this year, but that doesn't mean I feel alone.  I've chosen to be among the waves and sands of our natural world, Cape Cod.  There is so much space for the heart to find light and for creative energy to flow.  Traditionally, I wake early to the sounds of birds chirping with delight and head out to the bay for a sunrise service to celebrate the re-birth of the world.

I hope you all have a wonderful day as well and can find peace and happiness on a beautiful day like today.  Happy Easter Egg hunting!

Today is yet another good day to re-kindle your Yoga practice.
